Kelsey from Moss Vale High School talks about the connection to her Aboriginal heritage. This is her story.
Story contributed by Moss Vale High School. Published in 2015.Hi I’m Kelsey Attwood and I’m 13 years old. I was born in Sydney but my tribe is called Jirinja from NSW south coast. I live with my Mum, dad and 2 little sisters and I go to Moss Vale High School.
Before I came to Moss Vale High I had little to no knowledge of my Aboriginal history. Personally this school has opened up doors for me that I would never have gone for. I’ve heard many different Indigenous stories from many Aboriginal Elders and along the way met amazing people who shared this amazing experience with me. I have been to Katoomba and spoke to the Elders there and watched an Indigenous dance. I hope as I continue my schooling career I learn more and more about not only myself but my Indigenous history.
