Moss Vale High School students collaborate with Aboriginal artists

In the last week of Term 2, two local Aboriginal artists, Wendy Lotter and Peter Swain, visited Moss Vale High School to work with students in developing an artwork reflecting the 2015 NAIDOC theme: We all Stand on Sacred Ground.

Our artwork centred around the value of Respect, using our Positive Behaviour for Success school symbol for respect – the echidna. The finished artwork was displayed at our local Council Chambers during the NAIDOC Week celebrations over the school holidays.

The following photos show how the artwork was created: from sketching the echidna and mixing the pigments, to the drawing of the symbols, and then, finally, to the finishing touches of the beautiful artwork.
